Martedì 28 giugno alle ore 19.00 Parione9, la galleria d’arte nel cuore della Roma barocca di piazza Navona, inaugura Exit Voto, mostra collettiva a cura di Rossana Calbi.Lo spazio delle galleriste Marta Bandini ed Elettra Bottazzi ospita le opere dei 110 artisti italiani a cui sono state commissionate 110 rappresentazioni agiografiche. Il simbolismo cristiano è stato l’oggetto dell’indagine degli artisti, i quali hanno cercato di rappresentarne le verità sociali rifacendosi al linguaggio iconografico della nostra cultura religiosa che ci accompagna nel quotidiano. Le 110 opere su carta sono realizzate in piccolo formato, 15x18 cm, a ricordare i “santini”, con le preghiere scritte sul retro che trovavamo nei cassetti delle nostre nonne. Queste immagini sono la testimonianza di una devozione antica che, in questa mostra, segnano l’uscita dalle costrizioni rigide che l’uomo spesso pone alle proprie azioni. Le parole di Sant’Anselmo Fides quaerens intellectum (la fede richiede ragione) sono state il monito nella costruzione sistematica di questo progetto artistico: le cristallizzazioni dei doveri e dei tabù nel nostro pensiero meritano la ricompensa della devozione. Nell’ex voto suscepto, nella promessa fatta, forse possiamo trovare il giusto riscatto e concedere a noi stessi quella grazia che cerchiamo nella preghiera verso l’altro. DaI 28 giugno al 7 agosto 2016 i 110 artisti italiani portano i loro “santini” nel cuore di una Roma che si muove lenta nell'iter del nuovo Giubileo.

Tuesday 28th June at 7 PM Parione9 art gallery, in the heart of the Baroque Rome next to Piazza Navona, opens Exit Voto, a group show curated by Rossana Calbi. Gallery owners Marta Bandini and Elettra Bottazzi hosts the artworks of 110 Italian artists who have been commissioned 110 hagiographic depictions. Christian symbolism was the theme for the artists’ works: they tried to portray its social truths by taking inspiration from iconographic style of our daily religious culture. The 110 artworks on paper, all sized 15x18 cm, remind us of the small holy pictures, with prayers written on the back, that we used to find in our grandmothers drawers’. These small images are the testimony of an ancient form of adoration and, in this exhibition, they indicate the escape from the strict obligations that mankind often set to actions. Fides quaerens intellectum (faith demands reason), these words by Saint Anselm were the basis for the construction of this artistic project: the crystallizations of duties and taboos in our mind deserve the reward of devotion. We might find the right redemption in the ex voto suscepto, in the vow made, and we can allow ourselves that same grace we search in worshipping. From the 28th June to 7th August 110 Italian artists show their “small holy pictures” in the heart of Rome, a city that slowly moves towards this new Jubilee.
